Laura Stevens, LICSW
Laura Stevens obtained her Masters in Science Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work in 2006. She has been a professional psychotherapist and social worker for the past 12 years. She completed her Kundalini Yoga and Meditation Instructor training in 2012. She holds an Art and Yoga Teacher certificate from Kripalu Yoga Center. She is also a psychotherapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and she teaches Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at Simmons College. Laura is interested in how the practices or yoga, art, and mindfulness can help to facilitate our personal growth and healing while reducing the impacts of stress on our daily lives. Laura integrates her knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology into her yoga, mindfulness, and arts-based workshops and classes to deepen the healing benefits of these workshops for her participants. Find Your Calm Workshops combines the knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Psychology, Positive Psychology, and Self-Care research with the practices of Yoga and Mindfulness to help us cope with the demands of work and personal stress and achieve our most optimal states of well-being.
Monthly Community Kundalini Yoga classes open to all levels. We strive to create a welcoming environment to LGBTQI individuals and people of all diverse backgrounds. A portion of proceeds go to an organization committed to social and environmental justice.
